And yet more bad news....

The pet scan revealed that my dad's cancer has spread to his bones. The doctor said that the tumors have "significantly increased" since his last scan. He's throwing up several times a day, is down to 150 pounds, walks with a cane and cannot hold his head up. And just 3 years ago he was walking 5 miles a day, doing bike races, hiking...he had the energy of those half his age, and now he's fading away.

I don't know how to deal with it. I feel like someone punched me in the stomach and knocked the wind out of me.

And then when I picked dd up from school (she's 6) some little bratty boy sitting across from her kept taunting her, "China, foster parents, China, foster parents, China, foster parents." I gave him the evil eye. Kylie knows her adoption story and knows she is adopted from China and she is proud of it, but I've never heard her mention foster parents (she didn't have any as far as we know she was in an orphanage only). I went up to the teacher and told her what happened. She said that Kylie has talked to the other kids about China but the teacher had never heard her say anything about foster parents. So, we get home and I ask Kylie if she knows what foster parents are. She said, "Foster parents are the mom in China who didn't want me." OMG...my heart was breaking when she said that! I sat her down and we had a long talk and hopefully that helped...

Please let tomorrow be a better day.
