Shower

This morning began with the girls playing in our swimming pool at 9 a.m. It was overcast and Big Sis kept telling me it was going to rain. No it isn't, I told her about a hundred times. After swimming we stayed inside while I made lunch. I looked out the window, lo and behold, it was pouring down rain. "Told you so, Mama, " Big Sis said.

After lunch I got the girls dressed. We were invited to my cousin's fiancee's bridal shower. No Daddies allowed. The girls looked so sweet in their matching pink flower dresses. They charmed everyone at the shower and behaved well for the most part. We stayed two and a half hours and then Little Sis had a meltdown so we left.

The words that Little Sis says constantly amaze me. My cousin's fiancee had a large chunky pink necklace that infatuated Little Sis. She kept pointing to it and saying "pink necklace." I rarely wear any jewelry, so how she knew what a necklace was is anyone's guess. She then pointed to someone's belt and said "belt." And the weirdest thing was that she touched the carpet and said, "pink carpet" (it was pink). I mean, I've never heard of a 26 month old saying "carpet," just like that. Where does she learn this stuff?

It's 8 pm now and the temperature is still high, 89 degrees. It would help if there was a breeze or if there wasn't so much humidity. Both girls are in the swimming pool, playing with our next-door neighbor Jake. Jake is two and a half and in love with Big Sis. I think Angus may have some competition ;)
