My online buddy Ruth (click on her name to see photos of her beautiful new daughter Nadia!)was tagged to share 6 random facts, so I thought I would share mine:
1. I have a very weird aversion to jelly/jam/preserves. They just gross me out, so much so that I gag everytime I make a pb&j sandwich for Big Sis. Even seeing the jar of grape jelly in the fridge makes me feel nauseous. I've been like this my whole life. I've always hated jelly. It doesn't matter what flavor...all of them gross me out!
2. I don't understand the whole fascination with Vera Bradley purses. I think they are incredibly ugly and I can't believe the prices they charge for purses that are made out of fabric! At least my Coach purses are leather. (Sorry, I don't mean any disrespect for any of you reading this who own Vera Bradley....different strokes for different folks).
3. I wish I was one of those crafty people. You know, the ones that can knit, crochet, make quilts. The ones who make fabulous scrapbooks and whose homes look like a page from a Martha Stewart magazine. I would love to have that talent. My mother, grandmother and sister are all excellent sewers but unfortunately I did not inherit that gene.
4. Off and on for the past 5 years I've considered going to nursing school. Actually it started right after 9/11 when I felt compelled to make a difference in the world. I've thought of doing it many times, even looked into classes at the local colleges, but in the end I never did anything. With two young children it would be too challenging. And, as lame as this sounds, I am horrible, HORRIBLE at chemistry (even failed it in high school) and I worried that I wouldn't pass it in nursing school.
5. I am a huge Abba (70s Swedish group) fan. I have almost all of their cds and a VHS of all their videos. When I was in the 3rd grade I even had an Abba folder (wish I still had it...it was cool). I thought the brown-haired singer was so pretty and I wanted to be her.
6. My favorite television shows right now are House Hunters (HGTV), Property Virgins (HGTV), Trading Spouses, Baby Borrowers and Tori & Dean. Yeah, I watch a lot of junk shows!

Don't feel bad about not being able to sew, you have other wonderful talents. I wish I could grill out the way you do and have yet to master your chicken marsala dish.
That's funny about your aversion to jelly - well I guess not funny for you since you have to make PB&J all the time...I love PB&J myself although I am not a grape jelly fan - strawberry for me, please! :-) Thanks for sharing...and thanks for the kind words about Nadia! :-)
I don't know if you have Ivy Tech in your area, but if you do, you can get a 2 year associates degree and become an RN. As far as jelly goes, I love it! One of my favorite things to do is make my and can my own jams and jellies.
