A Scare....

Last night Little Sis woke up screaming around midnight. She had vomited in her bed and her head was wet with sweat. She was burning up. I took her temperature and it was 104.6!!! I took a photo of it (above, blurry) because I could hardly believe it. We gave her Motrin and a popsicle but she vomited that up. I gave her some cool water to drink and put her in a lukewarm bath. I slept on the living room floor with her so that she could watch some Barney. She fell asleep but kept waking up throughout the night. Finally at 7 a.m. I woke Daddy up and told him it was his shift. I went upstairs to bed until 10:45.
We debated about taking Little Sis to urgent care or just waiting until the doctor's office opened tomorrow. We decided on urgent care because if she had another ear infection (she's had two in the past 4 months), we wanted her to start the antibiotics as soon as possible.
I took her to urgent care while Daddy stayed home with Big Sis. The doctor said her left ear had major wax and he couldn't even see in it. He said her right ear had about 50% wax but he could see that it was red, yet not quite infected. He wrote us a prescription for an antibiotic and said if she's still doing bad tomorrow to get it filled and to take her to the pediatrician. He said she could have a virus.
So....we're not really sure what's going on. She only ate a couple bites of food today, but has drank some apple juice and doesn't appear to be dehydrated. I put drops in her ears to remove the ear wax, and gave her some more Motrin.
I'm ready for a nap! I'm sure Little Sis is too. It's been a long day.

Wow! That is a crazy high fever. Poor thing. I hope she is feeling better soon.
