Myrtle Beach

Our trip to Myrtle Beach was so much fun. The drive wasn't bad. The girls behaved very well and mostly watched dvd's. I read, played video games and slept. Steve did most of the driving. I was surprised how good the gas mileage is for our Honda Odyssey. It took two tanks of gas to get to Myrtle Beach.

Our days were mostly spent at the beach and indoor waterpark. One day we went to see Cirque Du Soleil. It was incredible. They don't allow cameras so unfortunately I couldn't take any photos.

Another night we ate at a Brazilian steakhouse. About 10 waiters keep coming to your table with various meats (filet mignon, lamb, pork, ribs, flank steak, shrimp, etc) on skewers and shave off pieces onto your plate. It was really really good and I think I ate more red meat that night than I have in the past 3 years. We ate there to celebrate Mom's birthday and the owner brought her out a chocolate cupcake with key lime frosting- yummy.

The weather was good, no rain except on the drive to and from, but it was HOT. The sand was so hot it hurt to walk on it. On our last day I broke down and rented a tent on the beach for us. We took walks in the early morning to see the sunrise, which was pretty.

The condo we stayed at was great. It had two bedrooms, living room, large dining table, two full baths (one with a whirlpool tub), full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. We had plenty of room to spread out.

We cancelled the dolphin-watching cruise due to the heat. Maybe next time. One night we went to Broadway At The Beach which is a large outdoor area with stores, games and rides. Kylie went bungee-jumping last year and went twice this year.
