On Our Way

Yesterday we left the house at 7:30 a.m. to begin our drive to Myrtle Beach. My Mom (Nai Nai) and Papa Jim arrived the night before. The first three hours the weather was rough. Lightning, thundering and rain so heavy that it was difficult to see the road. Kylie was scared. I was too but didn't admit to it.

Steve drove, with Papa Jim sitting in the front passenger side. Nai Nai and I sat in the second row and the girls sat in the third row. This was the longest they had ever been in the van and they did great. They didn't complain, they played games, watched dvds and after lunch they slept.

We drove 8 hours and arrived in Columbia, SC where we checked into the Marriott Hotel. The hotel is very nice, with an outdoor pool. And the room was only $69, thanks to Priceline.com.

Once we checked into the hotel we went in the pool, then out to dinner at Red Robin. No one but me had ever eaten at a Red Robin. It was so good! After that we went to Target to pick up a few items, then to our room where I surfed the net and the girls watched The Incredibles.

This morning we leave for the remaining 4 hours of the trip. Myrtle Beach, here we come!
