It began Monday morning while I was getting ready for work. Kylie walked into the bathroom and told me that she didn't feel well, her stomach hurt, her head hurt and her throat was sore. She felt hot so I took her temperature, which was 102. I gave her Motrin and kept her home.
The Motrin would bring her temperature down for a few hours, and then it would spike back up. Tuesday she was still sick. Wednesday she was still sick. It's Thursday and guess what? She is still running a fever. The highest her temperature got was 105.5. I did not take her to the doctor because she had the same thing last November. I freaked out and rushed her to the ER at 2 in the morning, only to be told it was a virus and needed to run its course. Oh, and I had to pay $500 out of pocket for that visit.
This time I'm not taking her to the doctor or ER, but I am making sure she gets plenty of liquids. She's not eating much, but she is resting and will eat popsicles. She seems to be getting a little better each day, but is still feverish. Right now she's laying in my bed watching Alvin & The Chipmunks on dvd. Sophie is at school. I hope she doesn't catch this virus. Many children at their daycare have it.
