Tonight after tae kwon do, Kylie, Sophie and I went out to dinner with Lili and her mom. Lili's dad and Steve were at the shooting range. After dinner we went back to Lili's house to play and Steve and Lili's dad met us there.
The girls did Playdoh, played dress-up, etc. It was getting late, and Sophie was getting irritable and I have to work in the morning. I told Kylie to get dressed back in her regular clothes, that we were leaving in 15 minutes.
First she yelled at me, literally stomped off, and threw her coat on the floor. She finally got dressed but wouldn't put her coat off. She then started crying and screaming. I was embarassed. Steve had to pick her up to go down the stairs and out the front door. As she was having his meltdown she accidentally kicked their wall (while Steve was carrying her down the stairs). She had her black boots on and it left several black marks on their light tan wall.
I was mortified. I felt horrible and called Lili's mom when we got home so Kylie could apologize. I asked Lili's mom about the wall. She said that "most" of the black marks came off, but there are still some that won't come off. I offered to buy her some more paint and touch-up the wall but she said that wasn't necessary.
One thing that upset me is that this is so unlike Kylie. By nature she's not whiney or prone to meltdowns. I hope this doesn't affect our friendship with Lili and her mom.
