Yeah, mom, I know my blog is "lagging" like you pointed out to me today :)
Things have been busy. Nothing especially new or exciting, just everyday stuff. I'm working 2 days a week at the local gas company. The first two weeks were rough, I was not used to the co-workers and there was one in particular who was a little abrasive. There's only 3 women in the office, plus me. They've been there since the beginning of the company (4 years) so I think it was a little strange for them to have a newcomer there. But I've been there a month and I am used to things and used to them and we all get along fine.
On those two days that I work, I wake up at 6:30, shower, eat, pack lunch and surf the internet until I leave at 7:30. Kylie wakes up early those days and comes downstairs, half-asleep and asks me to put on a dvd for her. I put in a dvd (usually Scooby Doo Pirates Ahoy or Barbie & The Diamond Castle) and make her a quick breakfast. Daddy and Sophie are still sleeping when I leave for work. I get off work at 4:30 and go directly to school to pick the girls up. We are home around 5 and then I start dinner. It's not a bad schedule, but it did take me a good two or three weeks to get used to working again.
Soccer has ended so now Kylie only has tae kwon do. It's two days a week, so I feel that right now that's enough for her. Maybe in the spring I might sign her up for dance classes, as she loves to dance around the house in pretty dresses.
We've been invited to 2 Christmas parties, one for my work and one for the martial arts studio where Kylie takes tae kwon do. And of course they happen to fall on the same night. My mom is coming that weekend and will watch the girls while Steve & I go to my office party (no children allowed).
I have only a few things to buy for Christmas gifts. My father and Steve's parents, both of which will be receiving Omaha Steaks. I also need to buy presents for the girls' teachers. I think I'll give them gift cards to a local restaurant. And Lulu, our neighbor who is like a grandmother to Kylie & Sophie. I want to get her something really nice, but haven't found anything yet.
