My little girls are getting weirder and weirder. I think I've posted before that Sophie is obsessed with a baby doll sippy cup. She pretends that this sippy cup is a baby and has even named it Lily (Lily is what Kylie names all her dolls). She pretends to feed Lily, to give Lily a drink, sleeps with Lily clenched in her hand. She pretty much has to be holding Lily all the time. I was brushing Sophie's hair and she held up her sippy cup and asked me to brush Lily's hair. Do you know how weird it is to be pretending to be brushing a plastic sippy cup's hair? And how weird it is when Sophie tells me that Lily has a runny nose and needs a tissue?! When Sophie has a boo-boo and needs a band-aid, I have to put one on Lily too.
The plastic on Lily is starting to peel off and Lily is starting to look pretty grubby. Last night I spent a good hour on the internet trying to find a sippy cup that looks exactly like Lily. You see, I don't remember where I bought Lily. I must have bought her at least 3 years ago for one of Kylie's baby dolls. After spending much time on the internet last night, I finally found Lily. Here's a link so you can see "her":

The sippy cup comes with a baby bottle of milk. With shipping, it's going to cost me $11 to buy another Lily for Sophie. I hate to spend so much because I fear as soon as I get it, she will move onto another obsession. Tomorrow if my back feels better I will scour some more stores in hopes of finding one in town so I don't have to pay shipping.
Speaking of weird....now Kylie is sleeping with a plastic ear of corn. She has a play kitchen that has play food (hamburger, pizza, various fruits and vegetables). Well, now she is pretending that the plastic ear of corn is her baby and surprise surprise her name is....Lily (big shock, I know). She's in bed right now snuggled up to an ear of corn.
Life is never dull around here.
The 3 photos below were taken yesterday before school. Ignore the messy hair, I hadn't brushed their hair yet. They were sharing a tray and a plate of biscuits. You can see Sophie's "Lily" on the tray in front of her.
