Hotel

Last night our family stayed in a hotel here in town. It sounds funny to write that, the hotel is only a 5 minute drive. It's our mini-vacation. Before Sophie joined our family, we used to do this quite a bit with Kylie. We stay at the hotel, use their indoor swimming pool, and spend the night. Kylie used to love it because it was something different. And now, Sophie loves it too! We brought their friends Angus and Vincent to the pool. There was no one else in the pool, which was nice. We brought 3 inflatable rafts for the kids. At first Sophie cried in the pool because the boys splashed water on her. She's just like me...hates to have water in her eyes. But after we told the boys to stop splashing, she was all smiles in her little raft.

After swimming Steve took the boys to their home while I gave Kylie and Sophie a bath. The girls were hungry (even though they previously ate dinner) so Daddy got them chicken nuggets. They loved buying a Sprite from the hotel vending machine and filling up the ice bucket from the ice maker in the lobby.

We finally all crashed around 11 p.m. We requested 2 beds. Kylie slept with Steve and Sophie slept with me. This morning Steve left early for Tennessee with his friend, so I had to pack everything up, lug my suitcase, the girls' 2 backpacks and the three rafts into the van. When we got home I washed all the clothes, put away the luggage, made them lunch and now they're napping. I think I'll take a nap too!

Below: Sophie didn't like it when the boys splashed water on her.

....but 5 minutes later she was fine.
