Thursday

Another busy week.

Both girls were home with me on Monday. We went to toddler storytime at the library in the morning. On Tuesday the girls were in school. I did the usual cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping.

Yesterday I was busy nonstop. Again the girls were in school. I mowed the grass in the morning, cleaned out the garage, emptied the dishwasher, cleaned/treated our leather couch, paid bills, watered the lawn/flowers...and that was all before I had to pick the girls up. Then I picked the girls up, got Kylie dressed in her tae kwon do uniform, gave them a snack and off we went to tae kwon do. Vacation Bible School for Kylie started last night so we had to leave tae kwon do early. I got her dressed back in her regular clothes, dropped her off at vacation bible school, came home, made dinner for the rest of us, and by then it was time to pick her up again. I picked her up at 8:45 pm. All the children were in the main hall practicing a song they are going to perform called "Choose Jesus." I sat in the back and watched. Kylie was having so much fun.

Today Kylie had school and Sophie was home with me. The Early Intervention specialist did her monthly appointment with us today. It's actually kind of a joke. The specialist is so impressed with Sophie. At age 2, Sophie is more advanced than many of the 3 and 4 year olds that she visits. She jokes that Sophie could probably teach her and that soon Sophie will be learning calculus.

The specialist always has a project for Sophie to do. This time she brought a large clear container filled with dry navy beans, pinto beans, rice, cups, and a funnel. Sophie loves sticking her hands in the dry beans and rice, pouring them into cups and using the funnel. I'm thinking of buying some of these items the next time I'm at the grocery store; I think Kylie would have fun with it too, and it's an inexpensive sensory toy.

On an unrelated note, we are considering purchasing a new washer and dryer. Ours are 8 years old. I noticed that lately it is taking a long time to dry a regular load of clothes. If we replace the dryer we might as well replace the washer. I found an energy-efficient LG washer/dryer and it got excellent reviews on Epinions.com. Oh yeah, and it also comes in this cool color called "wild cherry." Here's a photo of the washer:

I have that washer and dryer and LOVE IT!!! Go for it! It plays pretty chimes (I know who care right? ) when the laundry is done washing/drying and has a ton of features (I never use LOL) and can fit my king size comforter in the bins with room, plenty of room, to spare!

PS.
We are off to get baby
girl on Monday!!! YAY!
