(un)Happy Birthday

On Friday Little Sis turned two. I made the horrible mistake of scheduling her 2-year checkup on that day. She ways 23 pounds and is 31.75 inches tall. Good head circumference too (whatever that means). She was fine with the doctor until it was time for the vaccinations. She had to have FOUR shots, two in each leg. Poor thing...she shrieked and cried so hard that it made Big Sis (who was with us) cry as well.

That night we went to Happy Garden to celebrate her birthday. She was still very, very fussy and would not eat much. It was not a fun night. Actually, this whole weekend has been something I wish not to relive. Little Sis awoke Saturday morning, burning up, with a temperature of 102.7. She would eat nothing but popsicles and pieces of fresh navel oranges. And so much fussiness, followed by her repeatedly saying "Leg hurt, leg hurt."

Her temperature goes down with Motrin, only to climb back up again. It's Sunday afternoon now, and she hasn't eaten anything today except for a little bit of bottle and several pieces of orange. She's been sleeping for over 3 hours now, which is a long nap for her.

All in all, not a good birthday...but definately memorable.

Happy Birthday, little Sis! I hope she is feeling better soon. Sorry to hear about how sick the chemo made your father. I hope he starts to bounce back now that his treatments are over and hopefully they did get rid of his cancer.

Hiya,

So sorry little Sis's birthday did not go well. Ainsley's dr appt is scheduled for May 13th. I think (and hope) that she only has one shot left. Have you heard about our favorite spicy auntie?

I'm glad you overruled your dh on Erma. Yuck!!!!! I wish my dh was okay with Sophie but this children's book I have titled Sophie's Window the main character (Sophie) is a dog. So he thinks of it as a dog's name. Bah humbug, LOL! Sophie is not nearly as high on the Social Security list as Sophia so that's why I prefer it. Anyhow if you can keep a secret, the two we have it narrowed down to are Deborah (we'd call her Debbie) and Nadia as far as first names go. Paul's favorite aunt is named Deborah (people call her either Deb or Debbie). I love the meaning of Nadia Renee put together as Nadia means hope and Renee means reborn and this baby certainly does represent hope reborn as I was really giving up hope I'd ever be a mom through pgcy or adoption. It will be interesting to see which we pick. :-)
