Tuesday

Little Sis has been sick since Saturday. Actually I think it started Friday night while Daddy was in Indy. She's had a cough, constant runny nose, not sleeping, eating or drinking much. The worst symptom is that she's been super-fussy which is not how she normally is. She's had a fever Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I give her Children's Motrin which temporarily brings her temp down, but a few hours later the fever returns. (Ruth and Mary Beth, this is what you have to look forward to later this year!)

This morning I decided to finally call the doctor. Normally I would have called except that their office is closed on weekends and it didn't seem enough of an emergency to take her to Urgent Care. And she wasn't pulling on her ears, so we didn't think she had an ear infection. We figured she probably had a virus, in which case you just have to wait it out.

She had a 1:45 appointment this afternoon. It was a great doctor's appointment. I never thought I'd say that, but we only sat in the waiting room for maybe 2 minutes. We sat in the exam room for 5 minutes before the doctor came in. He listened to her lungs, said they sounded clear. He looked in one ear and said, "Uh oh, this one looks really bad." He said her other ear was fine, but the one ear was infected. He wrote a prescription for Amoxicillan, and we were back in our car by 2 pm. We were only there a total of 15 minutes! I was pretty impressed.

I gave Little Sis the amoxicillan tonight and she drank it up. But she also likes the taste of Infant Motrin and Children's Motrin. She perked up afterwards and before dinner she ate a piece of salami, slice of cheese and some chips with salsa! For dinner she ate chicken, noodles and steamed carrots for dinner. I was so happy to see her eating, as she hardly ate or drank anything the last 3 days.

Little Sis put a pull-up on her head like a hat!

Little Sis loves her toddler bed-- no more crib!
