For Christmas Daddy's uncle gave each girl a $50 gift card to Build A Bear. Tonight after dinner we got into the van and went to the Build A Bear. For those of you not familiar with this store, you go in, pick out a stuffed animal (bears, dogs, pigs, dinosaurs, cats, ducks, etc) and various outfits. You get a "shell" of the animal and bring it over to a large glass bin filled with stuffing. You give the animal shell to the employee who gives you a tiny heart. You make a wish, give the heart to the lady who puts it inside the animal and hooks it up to the stuffing machine. The machine fills the animal up, the lady sews the opening up and voila, you have a stuffed animal. They even give you a birth certificate. Big Sis named her bear Lily (of course) and she named Little Sis' bear Lucci.
The place ain't cheap. The animal shells range anywhere from $10-40 and that doesn't include clothes or accessories. They sell cell phones for the bears, sunglasses, shoes, purses and even underwear.
Big Sis picked out a pink bear ("because pink is my favorite color, Mama") and we picked out a light brown bear for Little Sis. Big Sis chose 3 outfits and a purse, and Little Sis picked out an outfit. We spent almost all the $100 with .36 cents to spare. Big Sis just loved the whole experience.
Little Sis and her balloon. Who would've thought that a simple balloon could provide hours of amusement?
