We narrowed our choices down to two. The man took a hammer and broke off a piece of each so that we could take it home with us to decide. The one we ultimately decided on is called Vincenza Gold and it's from Italy. It's brown with specks of gold and black and green. Below are two photos of the Vincenza taken next to our new cabinets.

Granite
This morning we drove out to Kentucky to look at granite slabs for our kitchen counters. It didn't go quite as well as I had hoped, because it was cold and rainy and all the slabs were outside. We brought the girls with us and Sophie was especially clingy to me, so we didn't get to spend as much time there as I wanted.
