Kylie - Update

This has been a long, slow week. Kylie's fever appeared to go away Monday but then around 11 p.m. that night she started vomiting and the fever reappeared. The fever lasted all week, Wednesday night being the worst at 105. The Motrin & Tylenol would only temporarily bring it down. Her body was so hot. She did sleep a lot, but her appetite was nil.
2 a.m. found us at Urgent Care. Her temp was high and she was coughing and shaking in her sleep. The Urgent Care doctor said it was a virus, not the H1N1, but again he didn't do any tests. Yesterday I took her to her pediatrician's office. She could hear the wheezing in Kylie's lungs. She gave Kylie a breathing treatment with the nebulizer and it helped quite a bit. I ended up buying a nebulizer machine from the ped's office since it's so much easier than trying to get Kylie to use her inhaler.
Today is now Friday and besides a cough and runny nose, she's doing pretty well. Her appetite is coming back, and the fever is gone. She ended up missing an entire week of school, one tae kwon do class and one dance class, but she's going to be fine. Poor little thing. The last time she was sick was in September 2007, so it's been awhile, but this time it hit her hard.
