On Monday we had to put our cat Duncan down. He was almost 15 years and his health was declining rapidly. He had lost a bunch of weight, was vomiting almost daily and recently started pooping all over the house. On Sunday he threw up twice AND pooped in the living room and I knew it was time.
Monday I had to work so Steve took Duncan to the vet. The night before I gave him a can of tuna (his favorite) and let him drink from the faucet (also his favorite). I arrived home Monday to a quiet house with the litterbox and food bowl gone. I found a few pieces of his dry cat food on the floor and vacuumed them up.
Kylie is sad. I explained to her on Sunday that Duncan was sick and was going up to Heaven. When I picked her up from school on Monday the teacher said that she was very quiet. Kylie drew the above picture of Duncan surrounded by hearts and all 4 of us with sad faces.
You were a sweet kitty, Duncan, and I will miss your head buts. Say hello to Barney for me and tell him I miss him.
