Once A Week

I've been not so good about updating my blog. Time just slips away from me. I think from now on I will update my blog once a week--most likely on a Saturday or Sunday.

Kylie finished her 2nd week of dance classes. So now she has tae kwon do on Wednesdays and Fridays, and dance on Thursday. I realize this is a lot, but she doesn't do soccer (she wasn't interested in it) like a lot of children. And the dance class is five minutes from home and only lasts 45 minutes.

At school she has to memorize bible verses every week. She is also in the very beginning stages of reading. So far she knows the words "at", "a" and "the." She enjoys school and Steve and I like the fact that there are only a total of 8 kids in the class, including Kylie. At the local public kindergarten there are roughly 26 children per class!

Sophie is in the Beginner's class at school and has made many new friends. She is somewhat of a local celebrity at the school; when I pick her up in the afternoons, everyone knows her...even the older kids who are 9 and 10 years old.

I'm still working 3 days a week for the local gas company. In October I will be there for one year. Has it really been one year? In many ways it seems like I've only been there a couple of months.

My dad had been feeling pretty good. My sister and her family finally came to visit him (they hadn't visited him in almost 2 years). He was feeling so good that he took their two children for rides on his quad. And this past week he sounded like his old self. Yesterday Steve went to his house to aerate his yard and they ordered a pizza. Tonight they were going to go to Morton's Steakhouse with a mutual friend, but around noon my stepmom called and said my dad is feeling horrible and had to cancel dinner. It is so odd how it works- one moment he's feeling great and then an hour later he can hardly stand. I know we need to visit him more, I need to get over my fear. I hated the way he looked a few weeks ago when we met him for dinner--old, hunched over. I hate that cancer has robbed me of my father.

Enjoy the photos below. They were taken today. Sophie wanted to wear her polka dot dress, so naturally Kylie had to change into hers. And we only went to Burger King! They love to dress up, and they gather attention wherever they go. The first three photos were of them in my bed watching "All Dogs Go To Heaven" and Sophie making her goofy fish face.

Did you get a new camera? Mine is similar to yours. My chief complaint is that it seems to take so long from the time I push the button until it actually takes the picture. With a toddler I need that delay to be much shorter!!

Ruth,
Mine is a Canon Powershot, can't remember the model number (I'm at work and camera is at home). I haven't replaced mine yet.

My mom has a Kodak and it has a long delay between pushing the button and taking the photo. My Powershot is pretty quick.
