Kylie gets her ears pierced!

Kylie got her ears pierced today. It wasn't planned. We were shopping at the mall and passed by Claires. Kylie and I talked months ago about when she would want to ge her ears pierced. She never expressed much interest until we walked past Claires today and she saw the ear-piercing table and chair. Then she looked at the earrings and wanted to see the piercing gun. I asked her if she wanted to get her ears pierced. She mulled it over. I told her perhaps we should wait until she turns 6 in two months. Then she said no, she wanted her ears pierced NOW, immediately. I didn't have my camera with me. I called Steve, who was at work, and asked him for his opinion. He said she can if she really wants to. She REALLy wanted to, so she picked out some pretty pink crystal daisy earrings. The lady said that Kylie could sit on my lap. I warned Kylie that it doesn't hurt, but the gun makes a loud noise. I was fully expecting her to cry or jerk or something, but she sat completely still and didn't make a peep. I was so proud of her, as was the lady piercing and the other shoppers in the store. I worried that Sophie would now want her ears pierced but she hasn't mentioned it.

Afterwards we finished shopping in the mall. She told every store employee she saw about her pierced ears, including 2 male employees at Foot Locker!
