We've spent every single day at the new house, unloading boxes, trying to unpack. It's been difficult because the painters are still there and their equipment is spread out all over the house. They painted both girls' rooms, and they look great. Kylie's room is the palest shade of pink, a little lighter than cotton candy. Sophie's room is lime green, very pretty and she loves the color.
The kitchen is painted, which was no small task. The walls were originally dark red and the painters had to prime it plus do 2 coats. We chose a tan color which looks good with the new granite counters.
The painters are using a special textured paint for our master bedroom called "suede." I have yet to see it on the walls, but they were working on it today.
Here's what still needs to be done before next Tuesday:
- paint both bathrooms, master bathroom and closets.
- install carpet in our master bedroom, walk-in closet and Sophie's room.
- steam clean the existing carpet.
- put up the mailbox.
- remove the debris (old kitchen counters, sinks, vanities, etc).
- install lights in both bathrooms.
I don't know how all of this will be done by then, but we'll see.
