Today my mom and stepdad came in from Indiana to spend the weekend with us.
Ten minutes before they arrived I received a call from our realtor's office. They said another realtor would like to show the house tomorrow between 10 and 11 a.m. Wow, that was fast! The house just listed on Wednesday night. I'm not getting my hopes up...I'm sure the first person to look at the house won't make an offer. I'm sure it will be several months before we sell this house, but still, it's neat to think someone already wants to see it.
Tomorrow works out fine. Steve and my stepfather are taking Kylie to Home Depot. On the first Saturday of each month they have a kids workshop where kids build things out of wood, like bird houses, pirate ships, stepping stools. They supply all the tools (which are kid-sized), along with instruction, and each child gets their own orange Home Depot apron. At the end of the project the child gets a pin to put on their apron, as well as a certificate of completion. And it's all FREE. The best part is that Kylie gets to spend alone time with Daddy for a couple hours.
While they are at Home Depot, we (me, my mom and Sophie) are going to Bed Bath & Beyond to do some shopping. We'll do this in the morning while the realtor is showing our house.
Today my mom and I spent a few hours straightening up the house for tomorrow's showing. We still have some last-minute stuff to do tomorrow, like vacuuming. We're taking our cat Duncan to our neighbors during the showing. If someone is allergic to cats and sees Duncan it might discourage them from making an offer.
Keep your fingers crossed for us tomorrow....!
