Stuff

I know I'm lagging in posting Christmas morning photos.

I've been busy cleaning up our current house. Our realtor is coming Tuesday afternoon to take photos so that she can list the house. I've watched enough HGTV shows to basically know how to stage a house. Today I:
  • removed all framed photos. Some people have a hard time visualizing themselves living in a house that has lots of photos of the current homeowners.
  • moved the girls' play kitchen into the basement (it was in our kitchen eating area).
  • cleaned and organized the basement, so that people can see how large it is.
  • moved a bunch of toys into the basement and put them in plastic tubs.
  • pulled some dead plant leaves off in front of our house.
  • took the Christmas lights off the tree outside.
  • vacuumed out my car (which has nothing to do with selling our house, but hey, I was on a roll!)

I am anxious to get the house on the market, since the market is so slow, I just want to list it as soon as possible. It will probably take 30 days to close on the new house, and the sooner we can sell this one, the better.

Today it went up to 70 degrees, which is a record! For the some reason, not sure if related to the rainy weather, our basement has a strong, horrible mildewy smell. I'm thinking of buying a dehumidifier. I checked Home Depot online and they are like $250 and up...yikes! I did some research on the internet and many people swear that putting plain charcoal in your basement really helps. I've also seen products at Home Depot that are supposed to help. I may be searching tomorrow after church.

Today I took the girls to Sherwin Williams to pick up some paint samples. Kylie changes her mind about the color of her new room, several times a day. At first it was turquoise, then pink, the royal blue...and then all black!!! Nope, sorry, I draw the line at black walls. Sophie, on the other hand, was very easy. I talked her into a pretty purple color. If only Kylie was that easy.

I hope your house sells quickly! Nadia's previous room was purple. We miss that but don't have the desire to repaint her new room (pink). I would not allow my daughter to pick black either, LOL!
