Family Portrait

Here are our family portraits...actually the only family portrait that we've had done since we've had Sophie. The photos were taken at our church. Lifetouch comes to the church to take photos of all the members for the church directory. You get a free 8x10 for having your portrait taken, and have the option to purchase more.
I think the photos were good, considering the whole experience. We had a 7:20 pm appointment on a Thursday night. The photographers were running late so we had to wait and wait and wait. Then once we were seated for the photos, Sophie was afraid of the photographer and started to cry. We finally got her to calm down.
In the 2nd photo you can see Sophie's smile. This is what prompted her to smile. The room was very quiet, the photographer was trying to get Sophie to smile. All of a sudden Sophie gave a loud burp, which cracked all of us up. The photographer hurried and snapped the photo. Twenty seconds later Sophie started crying again for no reason, I think she was tired, so we only had two photos taken. Normally they take 10 photos, some with just the children, but that wasn't going to happen that night.
The first photo is the one they are going to use for the church directory. They gave us a free 8x10 of that one, but it isn't centered. Plus we really liked the 2nd photo, so we bought an 8x10 and two 5x7s of the second photo. Wow, they are expensive...$100! But, like I said, it's the only family portrait we have with Sophie in it, so we decided to buy it.
You'll notice in the 2nd photo Kylie has her hand on her hip. The photographer kept asking Kylie to put her hand down and stand normal. That's one of the things I like about the 2nd photo- it shows Kylie's personality.

We had that at our church a few years ago, and they are doing it again right now. In fact it was just this month that the photographers were at our church again. We didn't go this time (although I wanted my free 8x10 LOL) since we are thinking of switching churches to one closer to our new home. Anyhow I love the second photo!!

Thanks also for telling us about Snapfish. I just ordered two different sets of 20 cards for less than $13 total!
