Hi All,
I meant to post photos of Kylie getting her orange belt, but we had unexpected illness. Sophie awoke yesterday at 6 a.m. with a temperature of 102.3. We were supposed to attend my cousin's outdoor wedding but I decided that Sophie didn't need to go...it was 95 degrees outside yesterday and a 4 hour roundtrip drive. Not something she needed, she was feeling ill enough. So, I stayed home with her while Daddy and Kylie attended the wedding.
Her temperature spiked to over 103 yesterday evening. I gave her Motrin all day. She wouldn't eat. This morning her temperature was only 99.2. I discovered what was wrong with her...she's teething! She's getting her second-year molars in the back of her mouth. Several clues....excessive drooling (constantly!), running nose and putting her fingers in the back of the mouth. The Motrin helped to bring her temperature down, but she needed something for the pain. I recalled hearing about Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets. I had Steve run up to Walgreen's to buy some. They are small, white tablets that dissolve in the mouth, under the tongue. There's no way Sophie would let me put anything like that in her mouth, so I dissolved two pills in 1 teaspoon of water.
The tablets are wonderful! She was in a much better mood and the crying ceased. Ruth, when Nadia starts teething you must buy these! Their website is www.hylands.com. Walgreens and CVS have them. I think they're $5.99 for a bottle of 125 tablets. You give 2-3 tablets ever hour, up to 6 times a day. I've only given her 2 tablets and so far, so good.
I'll try to post some photos tomorrow, if I have a free minute. Both girls are home all day with me, so that may not be possible!
