Don't you sometimes wish you were 4 years old so that you could get away with saying whatever is on your mind, no matter how rude? I sometimes do.
Lately Big Sis has made some comments that I am not proud of. Daddy and I are working on explaining tactfulness to her, and how you need to watch what you say so that you don't hurt someone's feelings.
A few weeks ago I posted about how we were at O'Charley's eating dinner and the overweight manager asked us if we were enjoying our dinner. Big Sis loudly made a comment about his large derriere and unfortunately the floor did not open up and swallow me up.
Some more comments from Big Sis:
1. We were at a bridal shower last week. Big Sis won a prize during one of the games. The prize was a set of drink coasters with lobsters on them. After tossing them aside, she said, "These are ugly, I don't want them. I want another prize."
2. At the same shower, as we were getting ready to eat, she sees a bowl of green bean salad. She wrinkles her nose and said in front of several people, "Yuck, that looks disgusting!" And then when she ate a bite of fruit salad, she didn't like it and spit it out on her plate.
3. Someone on our street was fertilizing their yard with what smelled like manure. Big Sis took one whiff, and loudly proclaimed, "Oh God, it smells like poop out here. I'm gonna puke!"
I know there are a few other inappropriate comments that she's made but I'm drawing a blank right now. She's at the age where she is old enough to think before she speaks, and to learn manners. I will say that she is very good at saying "Excuse me" when she burps or passes gas. :)
