Visiting Nai Nai

This weekend we ventured to Indiana to visit my mother and stepfather. Their small town was having the annual strawberry festival. I haven't been in almost 20 years. The girls had a blast. Big Sis got to ride a real pony and milk a fake cow. Both girls got their faces painted. I'm amazed that Little Sis actually sat still long enough to have both a strawberry and a heart painted on her face, but she did. We gorged on pork tenderloin sandwiches, ribs, chicken tenders, french fries, elephant ears and funnel cakes.

Last night Nai Nai and Papa Jim watched the girls so Daddy and I could go on a date. We went to the movies and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. When we got back around 9:30 both girls were wired. They played on Nai Nai's beach in the sand and Little Sis even got in the lake, which surprised me. Daddy and Papa Jim went to bed while us girls (Nai Nai, Big Sis, Little Sis and I) watched HGTV and talked. Big Sis soon fell asleep on the couch but Little Sis was hyper and didn't fall asleep until after midnight.

Big Sis fell in love with Nai Nai & Papa Jim's dogs. They have two brittany spaniels named Nicki and Nash. Big Sis played with them all weekend and was sad to leave them Sunday morning. She has talked about Nicki and Nash nonstop today.

It was a fun weekend, but I am bushed. Enjoy the photos.
