I know I've said this before, but I am continually amazed at how well Big Sis and Little Sis get along. They're more than sisters; they are true friends, through and through. Big Sis makes me proud everyday of how patient and loving she is with Little Sis. She certainly didn't get her patience from me.
Tonight when Big Sis was closing the fridge door, she wasn't paying attention and the door bonked her right in the eye. Crying ensued, and I sat on the floor trying to comfort her. It was only when Little Sis walked over, kissed Big Sis on the head and said, "It's ok," did Big Sis stop crying. And when Little Sis, who is very accident-prone, hits her head on the kitchen cabinet or gets her finger caught in the pantry door (like today), Big Sis will lovingly say, "I'm sorry, honey."
It is sweet to witness firsthand the love they have for each other. Honestly, I was expecting a lot of temper tantrums and jealousy when we brought Little Sis home. Sure, there's the occasional pinching or hair-pulling (mostly done by Little Sis) but these incidents are few and far between. My sister is 6 years older than me and we get along fine, but we're not what I would call close. I don't know if it's because of the age difference or what. Little Sis and Big Sis have the type of relationship that I wish I had growing up. They are both lucky to have each other, and I am very lucky to have both of them.
