They are truly sisters in every sense of the word. They fight over toys, poke each other, cry...and then five minutes later they are hugging on each other and laughing.
I believe that much of Little Sis's huge developmental accomplishments are because of Big Sis. Big Sis is the one who sits in the corner with Little Sis and teaches her how to clap, where her tummy is, and how to say kangaroo. Big Sis is the one who makes sure that Little Sis always has her favorite Elmo blanket and kisses her head when she doesn't feel well.
From day one, Big Sis has been a wonderful sister. Steve and I braced ourselves for the usual jealousy issues that people warned us about, but they never arose. Big Sis loved Little Sis even before we had a photo, and that love deepened the moment she met her at the airport.
Here are some photos of their newest game. Little Sis sits on Big Sis's tummy and bounces up and down. I'm not sure who is having more fun. Not only are they sisters- they are best friends.
