Exactly one year ago we received the referral call for Little Sis. It was a Friday and I was home with Big Sis. I knew from reading Rumor Queen that we'd be getting the call that day. Big Sis was taking a nap and I was sitting on my bed watching television when my agency called me.
I was amazingly calm. My first worry was that the phone would wake Big Sis from her nap. Luckily it didn't. I had my list of questions and listened as Susan from the agency told me all about Little Sis and how beautiful she was. Then she said, "I just emailed you her photo." I logged into my email but couldn't pull up the photo! She emailed it to my other email address and I was able to pull it up. Little Sis was so pretty. She looked familiar to me. The pieces fell into place. This was our daughter that we had waited 21 long months for.
Big Sis was the first one I shared the news with. She shrieked with excitement when I showed her the photo. And then I called Daddy, Nai Nai and everyone else. I was on cloud nine.
I love you Little Sis!

What a wonderful and exciting year we have had. Referral day was the most stressful, but one of the most wonderful days of my life. I can't imagine life without Candace. It is funny when we got our referral I was worried that I wouldn't be able to remember her Chinese name. Now, it is permanently etched in my memory.
